A Look Inside A Shelter for Cancer Families
ASCF Ben Ling Dedication
Ben's spirit was a beacon of hope to all those who knew him and who were by him on his cancer journey. This honor will not only keep Ben's memory alive, it will pave the way for cancer families who need a community to lift them up during their time of need.
For 21 years, ASCF has been building a community that provides the stability, shelter and support that cancer families depend on when seeking, often, lifesaving care in the Texas Medical Center. Today, with over 23,250 nights of housing provided since inception, ASCF looks to strengthen and expand its free short-term housing capabilities so even more families can benefit from a "home away from home".
With a thriving cancer community, and a constant waitlist of families in need, it is imperative that ASCF ensure the integrity and longevity of the community that the they have tirelessly worked to build. The Support the Journey campaign will address the financial obligations and capital improvements of ASCF while continuing to lift the burdens of cancer families for generations to come.
The commemorative naming rights opportunities honor all those, like Ben, who are an inspiration to cancer families and all those who will choose to Support the Journey as ASCF embarks on its next chapter. Together, we will ensure that the many who travel from across the country in search of cancer care, can find comfort and support at A Shelter for Cancer Families.
