In Memory of Robert Stowers
Robert Stowers was born and raised in Houston, Texas where he graduated from Reagan High School. He enrolled at Lamar University before joining the U.S. Navy where he honorably served his country. Upon his return to civilian life, Robert attended The University of Houston where he attained his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. While working at American General Insurance Company, his soon-to-be wife Sandra would catch his eye. The two would share a beautiful courtship and later marry. Together, they had 4 wonderful children. They also considered their nieces and nephew their own. Sandra’s sister, Dorothy, along with Julie, Janice, and Gene, spent countless hours with them. Their favorite place to be was Garner State Park, where they made many lasting memories.
Robert was full of knowledge...especially about sports trivia. His love of baseball, football, and other sports was endless. Still as happy as he was to discuss sports, by far his happiest moments were spent with his beloved family. Robert had a big heart. No doubt, his legacy of love and honor will carry on through his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sandra Stowers ; sons, James Stowers and wife, Emilia, David Stowers and wife, Sherri and Steven Stowers and wife, Jamie ; daughter, Stephanie Bradford and husband, Jason; grandchildren, Luke Stowers, Laura Bradford, Justin Bradford, Sam Stowers, Anna Stowers, and Nellie Stowers. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Helen Stowers, brother, Jack Stowers and sister, Joanne Cunningham.
Robert Stowers passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017. In lieu of flowers, his family has requested that donations be made to A Shelter for Cancer Families, an organization that generously supported his beloved niece Janice during her battle with sarcoma cancer.
