volunteer Opportunities
A Shelter for Cancer Families (ASCF) is looking for Chair(s) and Volunteers to assist with the various facets of our services that we provide to cancer families. Currently we have needs in the following areas. Please indicate your area(s) of interest on your Volunteer Application.
Social Media & Marketing. Love to help launch awareness or get the word out regarding events and special occasions? ASCF could use your knowledge of social media platforms and way with words to help create intentional messaging about our mission, the families we serve, and support our events throughout the year.
Thanks & Appreciation. We can never say "thank you" enough, and we are so appreciative to everyone who supports us. Help us show them by writing thank you notes to our donors and volunteers, coordinating photos and sentiments for videos, and working with our Ambassador families (past and present).
Celebrations. Help us create memorable occasions for our family traversing the cancer journey! These volunteers would help coordinate
Hospitality. Share your beautiful smile and sense of welcoming with others by offering your assistance in our office and ASCF housing facility. Help us with checking in new families, updating housing records, miscellaneous office tasks, and answering the phones.
Team Drake. Keeping our home away from home beautiful, safe, and clean is one of our highest priorities. From the inside out, ASCF takes pride in the pristine condition of our housing facility, and could use your help in maintaining it as such. Join our dusting divas that help with office cleaning and unit turnovers, or get your nature fix by helping with exterior maintenance and landscaping!
Fundraising Events . Have a knack for raising money or event planning? We would love your help with coordinating some our our annual events such as Hearts of Gold and Catwalk. As ASCF looks to broaden its development efforts in the future, any past capital campaign or major gift campaign experience is greatly appreciated!
Cancer Family Navigators. These trained volunteers accompany families to clinic visits in-person & virtually to take notes during clinic visits and share with the family. For more information about these services, visit our Navigation Services page.
