Wyatt Brown Memorial Fund

Picture
Our son Wyatt was diagnosed with cancer at the age of three months. During that time, our family spent a total of seven months in Houston before he passed away on April 28, 2017. While we were in Houston, a local charity, Amschwand Sarcoma Cancer Foundation now renamed A Shelter for Cancer Families (ASCF), housed us in apartments free of charge. When they didn't have any available we actually stayed in the founder's home with her family. Without this help we would have never been able to afford the treatment for our son and would have likely not had the 2 1/2 years with him that we did.

In addition to providing housing, during our stay, ASCF created opportunities for our family to celebrate things that were important to our family.  It would be in ASCF's apartments in Houston, that our extended family celebrated our last Christmas with our beloved Wyatt.  In addition to providing food to feed an army, ASCF decked the halls of our "home away from home" with a beautiful Christmas tree, personalized monogrammed stockings and gifts, not just for Wyatt but for every member of our family staying with us over the holiday. We cannot even begin to tell you how much we cherish that sacred time with our family and the memories we created.

This year, our family plans to spend the funds we would have spent on Christmas with Wyatt to bless another family. We ask that our dearest friends and family members consider doing the same. ASCF has made it so easy.  You can make a donation here to help families like ours celebrate the holidays. ASCF's volunteer "elves" will use the funds you donate to bless a family with a Christmas to remember and cherish. This options allows 100% of your donation to help the family (as there is no need to incur shipping costs nor tax). If you prefer to purchase a gift card or special something for the families served by ASCF, you can contact Ashley at [email protected] to coordinate.  Regardless, please know how grateful we are to ASCF and to each of you for making this special Christmas wish of ours possible.
